I found this challenge over on Pandora’s Books. It sounded like a lot of fun, and I know this challenge is really old, but I wanted to participate in it. It looks to have been created by Good Books and Good Wine.
Today’s prompt is: Recommend a tearjerker.
Whew. I have a couple of books for this.
The one I am going to talk about though is the book that had me literally curled up in a ball on my bed sobbing for 2.5 hours.
That book was Written in the Scars by Adriana Locke. I have never in my life cried like that while reading a book. The ending absolutely gutted me to my core. I sobbed my way through the rest of the book. I went into my room (still sobbing) and laid down on my bed in a ball then proceeded to sob (gut wrenching, wailing, horrible sobs) for 2.5 hours. I didn’t think I was ever going to be able to stop crying.
It takes a lot of talent to be able to bring out that kind of emotion in someone just with words. Huge kudos to Adriana Locke for writing such an amazing, although heartbreaking, story.
